Young Voters Respond to Grand Jury Vote to Indict President Trump

In response to the Manhattan grand jury voting to indict former President Donald Trump today, NextGen PAC President Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez released the following statement:

“No president in American history has ever been indicted, making today’s vote to indict former President Donald Trump completely unprecedented. Yet, while unprecedented, it is certainly not unwarranted. From hush-money payments, to obstruction of justice, to inciting violence, Trump has demonstrated a repeated pattern of criminal behavior and lying to the American people.

“The absurdity of this situation is deepened by the fact that Trump is the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential frontrunner and figurehead, showing just how out of touch this party is with everyday Americans and our priorities. No one is above the law, and now Trump is learning that the hard way.

“Young people are ready to build a government free of shady, fascist, and corrupt politicians who are actively working to rig the laws in their favor. Young voters are paying attention, and come 2024, we are prepared to turn out in record numbers again to protect our rights and protect our futures from MAGA Republicans.”
