In response to Democrat Jennifer McClellan’s special election victory, NextGen PAC President Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez released the following statement:
“NextGen PAC is proud to celebrate today’s historic victory of Jennifer McClellan, who will become Virginia’s first Black congresswoman. This victory is especially notable as it comes in the middle of Black History Month – reminding us even more that Representative-elect McClellan’s win is a cause for celebration and a testament to how our collective power can create progress.
“Our message is clear: extremist Republicans and their values do not represent our vision for the future. Young people across Virginia showed up, voted, and fought for a better state this election, and once again proved that their voices matter. Representative-elect McClellan is a proven leader who is dedicated to creating a more equitable Virginia and stand up for issues like abortion rights and economic justice – and we are so excited to see how she will use her time in office to fight for young people statewide.”
