Progressive youth vote organization endorses Democratic candidate for Philadelphia mayor, PA Supreme Court, PA Superior Court, Allegheny County Executive, Allegheny County District Attorney, and PA Commonwealth Court
Philadelphia, PA – Today, NextGen PAC endorsed Cherelle Parker for Philadelphia mayor, Judge Daniel McCaffery for the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Jill Beck and Timika Lane for Pennsylvania Superior Court, Sara Innamorato for Allegheny County Executive, Matt Dugan for Allegheny County District Attorney, and Matt Wolf for Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court. If elected, Cherelle Parker will be the first woman – and first Black woman – to serve as Philadelphia’s chief executive officer.
NextGen PAC’s endorsement of Parker is due to her commitment to tackling the climate crisis, solving economic inequality, and investing in schools and education. Her Republican opponent, David Oh, has promised to attack Philadelphians’ basic rights, and young voters know that Parker is a leader who will protect their basic liberties. An experienced civil servant and community advocate, Parker is committed to building a more just and equitable Pennsylvania. NextGen PAC is endorsing Judge Daniel McCaffery for his track-record of protecting and expanding workers’ rights, abortion rights, and environmental justice, among other issues.
NextGen PAC is also endorsing Jill Beck, Timika Lane, Sara Innamorato, Matt Dugan, and Matt Wolf due to similar stances on key issues. These lawmakers and judges are the start to creating a more just and equitable Pennsylvania for decades to come.
“NextGen PAC is proud to endorse Cherelle Parker, Judge Daniel McCaffery, and these other progressive lawmakers and judges for election in their respective office,” NextGen PAC President Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez said. “Building a brighter future starts with building progressive power in our communities, and every local race is critical to building a better, more just Pennsylvania. As we look to these elections in November, NextGen PAC is committed to turning out young people for Democrats down ballot and creating a better future for all of us.”
In 2020, NextGen PAC helped mobilize 1 in every 9 young voters who cast a ballot, leading to the largest youth voter turnout in history. Leading up to 2024, NextGen PAC is focused on empowering young voters to fight for a better future, this includes endorsing progressive candidates and ballot measures, among other activities.
